Electric Service Credit Union Becomes Enbright

enbright logoIt’s a new day in the Middle Tennessee credit union scene: Enbright Credit Union is the new name of the former Electric Service Credit Union (ESCU). Why the change? According to Enbright CEO Ron Smith, “It was time for a name that better reflects who we serve.”

Electric Service Credit Union has a long history. It was originally established in 1951 to serve the employees of Nashville Electric Service (NES) and was located within the main NES building in downtown Nashville. Since that time, the credit union’s charter has expanded to be able to serve anyone who lives, works, or worships in Davidson and Sumner Counties. “When you consider who we can now serve,” continued Smith, “the old name excluded a large and growing part of the membership. The Enbright name retains a philosophical connection to the credit union’s history — illumination — and carries a promise of a bright future for all members.”

CEO Smith said further, “We know that members will have questions about the name change and how their accounts may be affected. First, account numbers won’t change, and members can continue to use the printed checks they have until they need to order new ones. Second, the mobile banking app will automatically update itself as Enbright Mobile Money; there will be no need for members who use the mobile app to download a new app, and their logon credentials are the same as before. That’s also true for Online Banking online banking. Credit cards will be rebranded at reissue time and may be used as they are until that time.” Click here for answers to frequently asked questions.
