Emmanuel Yorke is one of those people who brightens the days for our Donelson Branch staff at Enbright. After moving to the United States from South Africa, he worked for Nashville Electric Service for 14 years. When surprised with sudden health issues with his kidneys, Emmanuel’s health declined quickly and, a year later, he found himself unable to work. He loved his work at NES, but disability was inevitable. In need of a kidney transplant, Emmanuel has spent four years on the transplant list hoping for a donor. A living kidney donor could make a big difference in the life of someone like Emmanuel. If you are interested in finding out more, contact Vanderbilt Renal Transplant at 615-343-1064 or visit their website.

Enbright Credit Union, its employees and members are known for community involvement. Of all the many efforts we are a part of, perhaps we are most proud of the Enbright/Jackie Evans Scholarship. Every year, we select a qualified high school senior to receive $500 per year for up to four years, to help with expenses at a four-year accredited college or university. The application process is open from January 1 through March 31; click here to read the requirements and to start the application process. The scholarship recipient will be chosen by a panel of independent judges.
It’s a new day in the Middle Tennessee credit union scene: Enbright Credit Union is the new name of the former Electric Service Credit Union (ESCU). Why the change? According to Enbright CEO Ron Smith, “It was time for a name that better reflects who we serve.”
Electric Service Credit Union has a long history. It was originally established in 1951 to serve the employees of Nashville Electric Service (NES) and was located within the main NES building in downtown Nashville. Since that time, the credit union’s charter has expanded to be able to serve anyone who lives, works, or worships in Davidson and Sumner Counties. “When you consider who we can now serve,” continued Smith, “the old name excluded a large and growing part of the membership. The Enbright name retains a philosophical connection to the credit union’s history — illumination — and carries a promise of a bright future for all members.”
CEO Smith said further, “We know that members will have questions about the name change and how their accounts may be affected. First, account numbers won’t change, and members can continue to use the printed checks they have until they need to order new ones. Second, the mobile banking app will automatically update itself as Enbright Mobile Money; there will be no need for members who use the mobile app to download a new app, and their logon credentials are the same as before. That’s also true for Online Banking online banking. Credit cards will be rebranded at reissue time and may be used as they are until that time.” Click here for answers to frequently asked questions.
If members have addiional questions, they are encouraged to email them to [email protected] or visit any branch of Enbright Credit Union.
Maybe you stopped at a garage sale on a whim, found the coolest thing you’ve ever seen, but you have no cash with you. Or, the guys decided to order pizza while watching the game and, you guessed it, there’s no cash in your wallet. Maybe you want to send someone a treat or repay them for some cash they lent you. Send money in seconds, securely, with PopMoney.
How PopMoney Works
If you use Online Banking with your Enbright checking account, all you need is the email address or mobile number of the recipient. Log in to Online Banking on your computer, or use the Enbright mobile app. Enter the amount to send, and POP! the money from your account directly to theirs. It’s that simple. There is a small fee, sometimes as little 50 cents per transaction. And the recipient will receive a message that the money has been transferred.
PopMoney Also Works in Reverse
You can also request money with PopMoney, and the sender doesn’t even have to have a PopMoney account.
